Job Summary:

The Bookkeeper is accountable for full-cycle accounting operations, including invoicing, payroll, accounts receivable and payable, monitoring the company’s cash flow, financial reporting, and maintenance of accounting records. He/she will also assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly reports.

This is a full-time in-person role with a day working from home and flexibility if needed. This role is not suitable for a bookkeeper with other clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain financial records, including bank, payroll, and A/R and A/P accounts
Calculate, prepare, and issue invoices related to accounts
Prepare, verify, and process payroll using Quickbooks Online
Manage cash flow by monitoring transactions and reviewing internal reports
Ensure all government taxes, loan payments, and other obligations are paid and/or reported on time (WSIB, CRA, BMO, HSA, etc.)
Monitor bank account balances and reconcile accounts
Assist in compiling research findings and report on data to help develop budgets and financial plans
Suggest updates to accounting policies and procedures to promote efficiency
Administer the health benefit program
Build positive relationships with tenants, co-workers, clients and management
Assist in the preparation of corporate quarterly and annual reports
Maintain a well-ordered accounting filing system

Requirements:

Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field
3+ years experience in bookkeeping required
Sound knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and procedures
Knowledge of financial statements, reporting, auditing, and payroll
Able to analyze and decipher data to provide recommendations
Proficient in MS Office and QuickBooks Online and willing to learn new software
Exceptional ability to work well under pressure while prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines
Outstanding interpersonal, time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills
