This is a contract role ending December 31, 2024.
Workplace Arrangements: This role is hybrid, with two days weekly working from our Ottawa Walkley Road Office.
Accounts Receivable Specialist, Role Accountabilities:
Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared
Processing, verifying, and posting customer invoices for service rendered
Monitor and collect accounts receivable by contacting clients via telephone and e-mail
Communicate discrepancies to management team, identify slow-paying customer, and recommend collections candidates
Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
Prepare invoices and billing for various cost recovery programs
Support other accounting and finance team members and inventory Accounting management
Generate reports detailing the overall health status of accounts receivable
Accounts Receivable Specialist, Candidate Knowledge and Skills:
University degree in Accounting/Business
3+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable/Accounting
Strong analytical, problem solving, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and part of a team
Experience working in a large organization with many cost centers
Proficiency Knowledge in using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent interpersonal skills - communication and writing skills to communicate with internal stakeholders and customers
Bilingual in English and French considered an asset
