Accountant
Eagle Plains Resources Ltd. (TSXV: EPL), is a leading mineral exploration company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange. We are seeking a highly organized and well experienced accountant to join our team. Located in the city of Cranbrook, BC, in the scenic East Kootenay, we recognize the importance of balancing work with the incredible lifestyle opportunities in our corner of the province.
Wage: $75,000 - 85,000 plus stock options
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee and manage the day-to-day financial operations of the Company, including full-cycle accounting, account reconciliations, accounts payable and payroll processing.
· Responsible for the oversight of one accounting staff member and provide day-to-day support, as required.
· Preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and related MD&A.
· Provide management with accurate and timely information necessary to make strategic decisions, including preparation of financial and cash flow budgeting & forecasting.
· Provide administrative services maintaining insurance requirements, group benefits plan and others as required.
· Responsible for the year-end audit, tax audits and contact with the Company’s independent auditors and taxing authorities.
· Prepare and file all provincial and federal tax returns with CRA
· Prepare and file corporate governance documents as required.
Qualifications
· BS or BA degree – Accounting Specialization or CPA
- Minimum 5+ years of general accounting experience
- Quick Books and MS Suite of tools experience, including proficient excel experience
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi task
- Good communication, management and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with public companies and corporate governance requirements would be an asset.
