We are looking for an Accounts Payable/Accounting Assistant to join the Finance team.
The position, under the direction of the Controller, is mainly responsible for receiving and reviewing incoming invoices, efficiently and accurately creating invoices, and processing payments. The goal of this position is to administer all functions of accounts payable, while maintaining strong relationships with our team members and vendors. This position is also responsible for assisting the controller with accounting tasks.
This job entails:
- Match invoiced with packing slips and enter into ERP system
- Correspond with vendors regarding billing and payments
- Reconcile statements and payable records
- Maintain up to date payables systems and records
- Pay vendors and service providers (weekly cheque runs)
- Ensure all accounts payable tasks and activities are kept up to date in an accurate manner at all times
- Filing of A/P backup
- Process month end and complete subsequent reports
- Maintenance of master files (standard cost, quote master file, fixed assets, etc.)
- Create commission payments to be processed by Payroll Department
- Year End
- Create inventory spreadsheets
- Enter, upload and print year end inventory
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
- 1-3 Years experience in Accounts Payable
- Strong excel skills
- Formal education in accounting
