WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
- Conducting thorough account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Performing regular account analysis to detect discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Managing payroll processing to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Overseeing accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Generating financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assisting with the preparation of tax returns and other financial documents.
- Contributing to the enhancement of accounting and finance processes, systems, and controls.
- Compiling Government Sales Tax Reports as necessary.
- Undertaking additional duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ideally, possess 2-5 years of experience in full-cycle accounting or bookkeeping; candidates with more experience will be given preference.
- Exposure to Canadian corporate tax, with ideally 1-2 years of experience; candidates with relevant experience will be prioritized.
- Proficient in account reconciliation, account analysis, bank reconciliations, payroll processing, and managing accounts payable/receivable.
- Hold at least a college diploma or degree, preferably with a concentration in accounting.
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks/XERO, MS Word, Excel, and cloud suites like Office 365/Google Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple accounts/duties concurrently with a methodical mindset.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to autonomously prioritize tasks.
- Organized and process-oriented with excellent communication skills.
- Nice to have: Familiarity with Canadian income tax laws and regulations.
