About the Role
This role will engage with a variety of start-ups as their strategic finance leader. This involves assisting with FP&A, financial modelling, sensitivity analyses, measuring KPIs and overseeing the monthly accounting processes. You may also manage and facilitate relationships with lenders, investors, banks, and suppliers.
We’re looking for someone that is willing to roll up their sleeves and get the job done. Even if it requires doing a wide variety of work, as no clients' needs are the same.
You will be leading a portfolio of high growth ventures in Canada and managing your own schedule. In addition to servicing clients, you will help build the Growth Partners portfolio. This includes fostering relationships with founders, venture capital firms and other strategic relationships in the technology ecosystem.
What we'll be looking for
We’re looking for a dedicated finance professional that has a strong desire to make an impact and add value to emerging companies. This requires someone that is comfortable working in ambiguity, confidently prioritize multiple projects and able to problem solve on a variety of challenges a client faces. This involves a willingness to learn quickly and find opportunities to improve our services in the market.
Requirements
- CPA, CFA, MBA or any similar professional designation
- Financial leadership role at a high growth firm, preferably as a Director or VP
- Strong skillset in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
- Understanding of Cloud Accounting software (i.e. QBO, Xero) and SMB finance technology
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ideally 7+ years work experience in finance, startups or other relevant experience
- Must have had involvement in an equity investment round (e.g. VC, PE or other) and/or debt financing

- Compensation: base salary of $145K-$180K per year and profit sharing
