Metro Community Housing Association (MCHA) is a non-profit, community-based agency that provides support to individuals living with mental illness. With multiple residential settings throughout Halifax and Dartmouth, MCHA offers a range of services including small option homes, group homes, complex care homes, a community transition house, and a residential care facility. In addition, MCHA provides supported apartment services to participants living independently. This growing organization recently opened its newest home in 2021 and is affiliated with the Department of Community Services.
Role Description
This is a full-time role for an Accounts Payable Administrator at Metro Community Housing Association. The Accounts Payable Administrator will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounts payable, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and communicating with vendors and staff. This is an on-site role located in Halifax, NS.
Qualifications
- Analytical Skills and Attention to Detail
- Finance and Accounting Knowledge
- Excellent Communication Skills (both written and verbal)
- Experience with Account Reconciliation
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Prior experience in accounts payable or related roles
- Knowledge of applicable accounting software and systems
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Relevant certification or diploma in accounting or related field is a plus
