The Role: SENIOR ACCOUNTS PAYABLE - 6 Month Contract to Perm
The Senior Payables Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of incorporated workers’ payments through accounts payables. The Specialist will be accountable for assigned multiprovincial service to client groups within a shared services environment, with the objective of providing excellence to our clients and an exceptional experience to our team members.
Overview:
- Oversee and process the vendor and sub-vendor payments for 1000+ Incorporated Contractors for all clients through accounts payable.
- Reviewing the payment batch created in GP for accuracy and completeness prior to send to finance for approval.
- Processing manual/off-cycle pays as required.
- Review and upload payments to the bank and send to senior manager to review.
Ensuring proper authorization of manual entries, adhering to company and client policies.
- Resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
- Oversee the issuance of reverse invoicing to contractors and ensure payment advice remittance are being sent in a timely manner.
- Resolving issues with and identifying patterns, trends, and root causes – may be required to work as part of a cross-functional team to correct causes of issues.
- Developing and cultivating strong working relationships with all stakeholders; including team members, shared services, Customer Service, onboarding and operations management, and members of the Technology Services Group, as applicable
- Resolution of tickets within the SLA and make sure the team members are resolving tickets within the SLA.
- Train the team member(s) as and when required.
- Performing other duties as assigned
Whats Needed
- Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance along with a minimum of 3 to 4 years end to end accounts payable experience or a suitable combination of education and experience.
- Experience working in a large organization with multiple and multiprovincial payrolls.
- Ability to lead and manage team members as a high performing team.
- Solid skills in MS Office application, including excellent Excel skills.
- Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics GP an asset.
- Experience in a shared services environment an asset.
- Knowledge of time and attendance systems, including Fieldglass, Beeline, Flextrack, Webtime an asset
- Accurate in data entry activities, with numerical literacy and a drive for automation
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple completing priorities.
- Critical thinker with the willingness to learn and develop.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Resourceful and independent, with a “can do” attitude and approach.
- Ability to always maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
