4EA Building Science is a dynamic, employee-owned firm consisting of a team of consultants who specialize in building science and the building enclosure. We work on buildings of all sizes and types, providing design and construction phase services.
We are seeking an Accountant to support our business locations in Washington, California, and British Columbia. You will work with our Office and Accounting Manager to manage all aspects of company accounting for all three offices. This includes two operating entities, one in Canada and one in the United States, as well as three other entities which facilitate cross border ownership and work in multiple states.

Position Description
Accounting (50%)
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports.
- Maintain accounts and general ledgers as well as intercompany accounts and reconciliations.
- Manage banking and cash flow.
- Manage statutory requirements including CRA and IRS filing deadlines.
- Bank and account reconciliations.
- Miscellaneous general accounting duties.
Financial Management (40%)
- Prepare and manage annual operating budgets.
- Assist office manager and Principals/Senior Shareholders in producing and tracking business budgets for entire business and our three separate offices.
- With support from our outside accountants, produce regular quarterly financial reporting to assist in revenue, cost, and profit analysis for business planning efforts.
- Liaise with outside accountants to complete year ends, for tax and financial planning.
- Assist with strategic planning related to the financial management of the company and shareholders.
Other (10%)
- Provide vacation relief and back up support for the Office Manager and administrative team.
Qualifications
- Degree in accounting, business, or related field.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a business setting providing accounting-related tasks.
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Exposure to, experience with, or proficiency with Deltek software

We are happy to offer competitive compensation and a range of benefits. Salary ranges from $80,000 to $95,000 depending on experience.
