Applications are currently being accepted for a Senior Bookkeeper for The marsh Group (Marsh Instrumentation and Marsh Metrology) located in Burlington, Ontario.
POSITION OVERVIEW (Primary)
- Maintains separate set of books for each company and performs intercompany transfers.
- Processes the accounts payable, accounts receivable and submission of payroll data bi-weekly to Ceridian to process payroll. • Monitors cash flow, customer credit levels and reconciliations. • Performs full cycle accounting including month end reconciliations and year ends, and other duties as required. • Interfaces with operations as a team member. • Critical success factors for the role require a focus on accuracy, compliance, risk management, process improvement and efficiency
- Establishes and maintains Accounting Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’S).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Maintain an accurate update of the general ledger as it relates to all organizational transactions.
- Ensures compliance with government remittances including payroll taxes, EHT, WSIB, HST and all other statutory filings. • Oversee and administer accurate payments and cash receipts pertaining to company accounts payables and receivables • Monitor and review cash flow and bank accounts, including foreign exchange transactions • Perform and ensures monthly reconciliation of all general ledger accounts to ensure financial accounts are fairly presented and accurate, errors are corrected, appropriate financial recoveries have been made, and issues are resolved and/or escalated. • Work closely with management to review and analyze monthly financial reports
- Prepare backup schedules and information for corporate interim and yearend financial statements
- Performs data entry into Quick Books for job costing Special projects as requested by the President
- Other duties as required
POSITION OVERVIEW (Additional)
Administrator
- Additional duties include administration and coordinator of company Benefits/RRSP and Health and Safety for employees.
- Performs submission of Health and Safety and Quality assurance documents reports based on customer inquiries and/or requests for updates.
- Provides Documentation control and administration of company quality documents.
- Assist in purchase order processing
Education College, or other non-university certificate or Diploma from a program in Bookkeeping, Accounting. Business program an asset.
Computer Applications Excellent command of QuickBooks, MS Word, MS Outlook and MS Excel. Considered an asset MS PowerPoint, MS Access.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven bookkeeping experience
- Excellent communication skills oral and written.
- High degree of professionalism
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of accounting and bookkeeping experience
- Strong full knowledge and understanding of QuickBooks.
- Excellent command of Excel, Microsoft programs
- Strong Key boarding skills including speed with accuracy.
- Bookkeeping Certificate, Accounting Certificate and/or Diploma
