We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team immediately. The successful candidate will have between 1 and 2 years of relevant experience. The incumbent will also support our Accounting department. The candidate should be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment. We are seeking self-motivated individual that is willing to learn and take on ad-hoc assignments from the Corporate Controller as directed.

Qualifications:
Completion of some accounting at the college level is considered an asset;
1-2 years relevant experience is desirable, however, willing to train candidate with exemplary soft skills;
Working experience with multiple organizations, in both US and Canada is an asset;
Knowledge and working experience within the Manufacturing industry is an asset;
Demonstrates effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization;
Computer literate, including proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook;
Experience with Simply Accounting (Sage 50) software an asset;
Willingness to adapt to and learn new aspects of the accounting cycle;
Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently;
Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines;
Exceptional organizational, time management and prioritizing skills;
Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures;
Attention to detail in all areas of work;
High level of personal integrity;
Self-starter & independent learner;

Responsibilities and Duties:
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for, but not limited to the following:
- Responsible for accounts payable
- Code, total, batch, enter, verify and reconcile transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, purchase orders, cheques, invoices, accrual calculations, bank reconciliation and other related accounting documents/ schedules
- Ideally be able to learn payroll to cover vacations etc;
- Recording monthly credit card expense transactions;
- Processes bank reconciliations;
- Contact individuals with delinquent accounts in a timely, professional manner
- Calculates, prepares and issues documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, account statements, etc;
- Performs related clerical duties, such as reception, word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying;
- Ad-hoc projects and assignments at the discretion of the Controller;
