We are currently seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team who will contribute to overall success of the Accounting Department by performing day to day financial transactions. You will need to have strong interpersonal skills with a high degree of accuracy.
What You Will Do:
- Process incoming invoices daily, apply Purchase Orders, electronic filing
- Communicate with departmental staff and/or vendors regarding any issues or inquiries
- Conduct follow-ups in a timely manner to meet department deadlines
- Review statements and obtain missing invoices for entry and approval
- Reconcile or investigate accounts, use of system reports as necessary
- Perform weekly payable cheque runs, create payment batches
- Other tasks as assigned by management
What You Will Bring:
- Diploma or certificate in a recognized finance program (ideal, but not a requirement)
- A minimum of 3 years’ proven experience in an Accounts Payable role
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles including usage of Purchase Orders and receiving systems
- Proven ability to calculate and manage accounting figures and records
- Experience with spreadsheets and accounting software
- Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook and Teams
- Customer service orientated, problem solving skills and a positive, can-do mindset
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Viewpoint (Vista) experience is an asset
- Construction experience is an asset
