ParklandGEO Ltd. is a dynamic and growing engineering consultant company in search of an experienced intermediate Accountant to join our finance team. The Opportunity
As an intermediate accountant you will report directly to the Controller and will be an integral part of the accounting team. This position will be responsible for handling various accounting tasks such as invoice processing, reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparation of month-end close out procedures.
Responsibilities
- Invoice Preparation and submission of invoices to meet client requirements.
- Accounts receivable support and assist with collection efforts.
- Assist with processing accounts payable and provide support to the Payables Technician
- Assist in the daily accounting and finance activities of the organization.
- Assist with month-end close out activities; record journal entries for all business transactions, update financial statements, prepare monthly financial reports.
- Contribute to the monthly reporting and analysis of financial results, including preparation of the month's operational results by division, review/preparation of banking transactions and reconciliations, and review/preparation of reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
- Support the Controller with annual preparation of income statements, balance sheets, and other financial statements as per the company’s legal, financial, accounting guidelines.
- Support in the preparation of government filings.
- Help with the workloads of other members of the Finance team, when needed.
- Preparation of ad-hoc financial information in an efficient and timely manner to various stakeholders.
- Support any other duties or tasks assigned.
Qualifications
- Completion of diploma or degree in finance or accounting.
- 4+ years of directly related experience.
- CPA designation or working towards would be considered a strong asset.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficient in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team orientated and collaborative environment.
