Financial Analyst

Summary

The Financial Analyst will assist the Finance Department with a variety of day to day accounting functions as well as providing analysis of financial data to support the growth of the business. The Financial Analyst will also be required to interpret and implement accounting concepts or techniques for financial planning and control. The Financial Analyst will assist in the development of controls, reports and other financial documents as well as provide support and back up to the accounts payable and payroll functions.

Job Duties

  • Assist with all month end processes for Uni-Fab and related companies including preparation of financial statements
  • Financial account reconciliations and analysis
  • Inter-company transaction processing
  • Provide and maintain job costing and profitability analysis
  • Tracking and monitoring of financial results
  • Assist in the development of internal financial reports for use by the leadership team.
  • Participation in the preparation and enhancement of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages for internal and external purposes
  • Support of ERP utilization
  • Enforce Purchasing Procedures and Controls and reconciliation of inventory to general ledger
  • Development and documentation of control processes
  • Involvement with Accounts Payable entry and improvements
  • Provide support for payroll function
  • Internal payroll analysis and reporting
  • Assist with the development of an annual budget process
  • Analize financial results against budget

Requirements

  • Accounting Diploma or Bachelors degree in Business/Accounting
  • Minimum 3 years combined experience in accounting and finance
  • Previous experience strongly desired in Financial reporting, analysis and budgeting
  • Cost Accounting experience as asset
  • Payroll experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint)
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with high credibility at all levels of the organization
  • Must demonstrate flexibility and the ability to prioritize tasks, with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Self-motivator with ability to work independently
