Accounting Bookkeeper (Full Time) – Toronto, ON
Evanov Communications is looking for an accounting Bookkeeper that will be responsible for the oversight of a complete set of books for one or more companies in the group. It will also require a strong focus on managing accounts receivable and collection of delinquent accounts. Reporting to the Senior Controller, the successful candidate will be detailed oriented with a passion for numbers, accuracy, and organization.

THE CREATION
- Prepare and post entries to the general ledger for one or more companies.
- Prepare monthly or quarterly submission of one or more HST returns.
- Prepare monthly financial statements for one or more companies.
- Review and allocate payroll costs as necessary.
- Approve or deny credit approval for all Broadcast contracts.
- Review Broadcast contracts for accuracy and completeness.
- Check Contracts daily for management approval.
- Run Invoices and Account Statements after the broadcast month end.
- Send Co-op invoices to creative at each station to be signed off.
- Prepare bank deposits, credit card payments.
- Post receipts to the Wide Orbit system on a daily basis.
- Process adjustments to invoices and payments on a daily basis.
- Review status of the aged accounts daily.
- Investigate overdue accounts and resolve billing disputes.
- Contact Sale Representative directly and notify re overdue accounts weekly.
- Enforce collections policy by instituting legal action if persistent efforts to recover the debt fail.
- Meet with the Accounting Manager to review all aged A/R listings on a monthly basis.
- Other adhoc duties if necessary.
THE ENERGY
- One or more years of experience in Broadcasting
- One or more years of experience maintaining a full set of books
- Seven years experience in revenue, receivables and collections
- University Degree, preferably in Business, Accounting, or related field
- One or more years of experience with Wide Orbit system and Great Plains is a plus
- Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable process and collection policies
- General understanding of legal process to recover unpaid amounts
- Attention to detail, strong time management, organization skills and accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, excel and word
- Strong Communication Skills
