Responsibilities
· Perform all accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, inventory accounting and revenue recognition.
· Prepare timely monthly financial statements and reports.
· Support month-end and year-end close process.
· Participate in the development and support of the company’s strategic plans.
· Financial Reporting and analysis.
· Ensure quality control over all financial transactions and financial reporting.
· Budgeting and forecasting.
· Monitor the financial performance of the company.
· Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and administering policies and procedures.
· Oversee the accounting operation, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the companies’ accounting goals and objectives.
· Keep up to date on changing accounting standards and professional development.
Keys to Success
· Excellent computer skills.
· Excellent organizational and communication skills.
· Ability to gather and analyze data and create recommendations.
· Experience using Quickbooks, Sage and Xero is considered an asset.
· Experience with ERP systems.
· Aptitude with new software.
Experience
· Minimum Education: 4-year Undergraduate Degree in Commerce or Business Administration
· Minimum Experience: 3-5 years of experience in the accounting profession.
· Preferred: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
