Ruth and Naomi’s (RAN) is a Christian faith-based organization with a vision and commitment to see the lives of people experiencing homelessness, poverty, and struggling with addiction transformed by the love of God. To assist in this work, we are seeking a Finance Manager. As a member of the Ruth & Naomi’s Leadership Team, the Finance Manager is expected to be active within a local Christian community and sign a statement of faith upon hiring.
Our operations include shelters, addiction recovery programs, supportive and low-income housing, and other supports. The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the Mission, working alongside senior leadership to facilitate budget creation, and providing financial advice and support for other members of management. As a member of the Strategic Leadership Team, the Finance Manager actively participates in long-term and strategic planning and organizational problem-solving. Responsibilities*
- Oversee financial operations of the organization, ensuring timely processing of all AP/AR, Payroll, and other financial processes;
- Prepare and present financial statements and other reports as requested by other members of the Strategic Leadership Team;
- Lead on budget creation, ensuring the timely distribution of annual department budgets and preparing mid-year budget updates;
- Prepare and distribute monthly variance reports for department managers
- Liaise with BC Housing and other external funding agencies to provide necessary documentation and support for contracts;
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing using Payworks software;
- Develop and maintain effective processes and controls for financial functions, ensuring processes are clear, concise, and followed by all;
- Collaborate with the Partner Development department to develop donation analytics and Key Performance Indicators;
- Advise senior leadership on financial planning and resource allocation
- Supervise finance staff, providing clear Objectives and Key Results, performance management and mentorship, and training
- Facilitate the annual audit and distribute audited financial statements to the Board of Directors
Assets & Experience
- 3-5 years in Financial Management role;
- Current CPA designation with Bachelor's degree in a business field
- Non-profit experience preferred;
- Experience with SAGE, Payworks, and FundraiseUp an asset
- Excellent communication and attention to detail and accuracy
- Creative and innovative problem-solving mindset
- Ability to participate in robust discussions and healthy conflict
