Position Overview
Varis Mine Technology Ltd is currently searching for a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our team. Reporting to Admin Manager, the ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and performing essential accounting tasks to support the smooth operation of our business. Essential Job Functions
Daily Tasks
- Account Payable - enter invoices according to established internal procedures,
- Accounts Receivable – invoice customers and send out invoices
- Collections – follow up on past due accounts
- Cash Receipts – enter customers deposits into accounting system and bank accounts
- Maintain cash position.
- Assist Purchaser in resolving A/P invoice discrepancies
Other Duties
- Prepare vendor payments weekly.
- Prepare bank reconciliation monthly.
- Reconcile General Ledger accounts monthly including research and resolution of discrepancies.
- Reconcile Sub-Ledgers to GL.
- Participate in Month End, Quarter End, and Year End Closings
- Setup and maintenance of Customers in the accounting system
- Setup and maintenance of Vendors in the accounting and payment systems
- Maintain accounts payable and receivable records.
- Credit checks for new customers
- Assist in other administrative duties as assigned
Education / Experience Requirements
Qualifications
- University degree or college diploma in accounting
- 3+ Years experience in an accounting role.
- A solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and other departments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Above average skills in MS Office applications, including Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
- Organized and detailed oriented, flexible.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Assets
- Experience with ERP Ledger systems is preferred (MS Dynamics Business Central)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
