Temporary – Finance Coordinator
(35 hours per week – 18 month position - Temporary)
STWDSTS is a consortium of five school Boards, Conseil scolaire du district catholique Centre-Sud, Conseil scolaire de district du Centre Sud-Ouest, Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board, Upper Grand District School Board and Wellington Catholic District School Board providing transportation services to the students residing in Wellington and Dufferin Counties.
POSITION: Finance Coordinator
Service de transport de Wellington – Dufferin Student Transportation Services
LOCATION: 66 Arrow Road, Unit B, Guelph, Ontario
SALARY: $ 30.20/hr, 35 hrs/week, full time.
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Service de transport de Wellington – Dufferin Student Transportation Services (STWDSTS) the Financial Coordinator is responsible for processing all accounting services for STWDSTS.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Budget coding for all invoices.
· Processing all accounts payables and receivables.
· Prepare and file monthly HST assessment.
· Load and verify payroll transactions.
· Maintain staff records, postings, and job descriptions.
· Prepare and enter journal entries to general ledger.
· Prepare source data for CAO for annual budget preparation.
· Complete monthly financial reconciliation for both the bank and STWDSTS month end.
· Receive and verify purchase orders as required.
· Prepare monthly invoices.
· Validate fuel costs each month for operator and member boards monthly.
· Prepare reports for month end reconciliation.
· Coordinate annual audit documentation for TMC annual report.
· Calculate and validate payments for specialized transportation contracts.
· Filing of all financial documents in an orderly fashion to meet audit expectations.
· Reconcile accounts and make all necessary year end accounting entries.
· Prepare all documents and reports for yearly financial audit for CAO and auditors.
· Oversee the petty cash fund and ordering of office supplies.
· Liaison with member boards regarding payments, invoices, etc.
· Assist the CAO in procedure development to streamline daily, weekly, monthly and yearly processing.
· Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in accounting.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a computerized financial environment.
- Understanding of internal controls and the ability to explain in a clear and concise manner.
- Excellent proficiency in financial and spreadsheet software.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to effectively apply outlined policy and procedures to ensure most effective course of action.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written.
