Financial Controller

Summary
Located in Saskatoon or Regina, the Financial Controller is directly responsible for the establishment of financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems. The Financial Controller will oversee and manage the financial operations of Trinity Manor at Stonebridge and Westerra and will be an expert in compliance of regulatory issues related to finance, specifically within the scope of personal care homes. He/she will provide support and input for Trinity Manor at Stonebridge and Westerra’s independent and personal care home financial planning and business processes and shall be responsible for the supervision of general accounting, accounts receivable, collection and payroll.
Job Duties
Manage financial resources and plan for the future needs of Trinity Manor atStonebridge and Westerra.
Oversee the operational budgeting and forecasting processes for Trinity Manor at Stonebridge and Westerra.
Oversee the preparation of all financial statements, operational variance analyses and business analyses.
Communicate and collaborate with departmental leaders to stay abreast of spending, budgeting, reports, and financial evaluation.
Monitor legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to financial reporting and operations, and ensure Trinity Manor at Stonebridge and Westerra compliance.
Lead and supervise staff on payroll, payables, receivables and any other financial matters.
Participate in the hiring and appraisals of staff.
Lead annual audits.
Maintain account policies and procedures and a system of internal controls.
Requirements
Accounting designation (CPA).
Minimum of 3-4 years full cycle accounting experience, preferably with a background in
a facility with the elderly.
Experience creating and managing budgets for a medium to large, distributed
organization.
Advanced proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheet programs and
applications, including system conversion.
Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, and government agencies.
Highly proficient in English, both written and spoken.
Working Conditions
Travel required.
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
High workload and tight deadlines at times.
Overtime as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 per year
