Job Description
We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to join the team to take on day-to-day operations and managing the overall accounting system.
Primary Functions
- Lead and manage all operational aspects of accounting including maintaining journals and account ledgers, by applying standard accounting practices and principles.
- Accounts Receivable management and collections
- Accounts Payable management and initiate timely payments.
- Reconcile bank statements, holding accounts and tax collection accounts,
- Identify variances in any account ledgers and apply appropriate adjustments
- Lead month-end closing activities including HST, PST, RST remittances as well as posting US Sales Tax filings, and other accounting duties in a timely manner.
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of biweekly payroll including all payroll reports as required.
- Process final pay, ROE, T4s, and other payroll processes through our Payroll processing partner
- Ensure Quarterly remittances and yearly reconciliations for WCB and EHT are completed and paid in an accurate and timely manner.
Desired Skills and Expertise
- 3+ years proven bookkeeping experience.
- Ability to perform a wide range of accounting and finance activities.
- Knowledge on computerized accounting software – Proficiency with Dynamics NAV an asset
- Proficient in data entry with strong attention to detail.
- Highly adaptable; can work efficiently autonomously or with a team.
- Ability to take initiative.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
