Effective April 1, 2024 the salary range for this position is $71,563 to $100,052 per year in compliance with AMAPCEO collective agreement provisions. The new rates, effective retroactive to April 1, 2024, were recently confirmed and dates for implementation of the new salary rates are still to be determined.

Supporting the branch in meeting its financial accountability and controllership requirements, you will:
- provide analytical services to support the team lead and the manager
- ensure due diligence in the coordination and reconciliation of financial securities, revenues and expenditures
- work with private businesses and financial institutions to ensure financial securities meet government standards
- research and analyze statistical data from a variety of sources
- prepare financial forecasts for review by senior staff
- research best practices and develop a range of templates, tools, and resources
- participate as a member of project teams for the development and review of policies and strategies
- analyze branch policy proposals
- support the preparation and administration of the branch budget and forecasts and coordinate the year-end financial process and funding realignment
- support the human resource and administrative requirements of the branch
- provide training and advice on financial processes
- You can demonstrate strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, accounting and financial processing, administration and reporting principles, policies, practices and procedures to support financial analysis.
- You understand policies and procedures, core business processes, project/ program delivery principles, risk assessment/management, decision making processes and accountability structures to support planning and implementation of ministry programs.
- You can interpret and apply legislation, business plan commitments, strategic direction and service delivery models.
- You have excellent oral communication skills to provide research, analytical and financial services as well as training, advice and support to branch staff.
- You have excellent client management and support skills to work directly with a variety of stakeholders, including students, financial institutions, and private postsecondary institutions.
- You have proven written communication skills to develop templates, tools and resources, draft internal policies and prepare finance and administrative related documents.
- You have excellent consultation and presentation skills to participate as a member of unit project teams for the development and review of policies and strategies.
- You have excellent research and analytical skills to carryout research of statistical data from various sources and to research best practices.
- You have excellent problem-solving skills to ensure compliance with project deliverables and timetables.
- You have excellent organization, coordination, project management and leadership skills to plan and prioritize activities, provide support to senior staff, coordinate the integration of information from multiple sources and ensure that frequently tight and conflicting deadlines are met.
- You have well developed knowledge of financial information systems in order to obtain and analyze financial data and to prepare various reports.
- You can demonstrate proficiency using computer software including Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
