Position: Assistant Controller
Your Role:
As the Assistant Controller , you will report directly to the Financial Controller. Your primary focus will, with the help of a small accounting team to manage full-cycle accounting including AP, AR and GL. This activity will include verifying, posting, reconciling, accruing, project job costing, financial reporting and being a key contact on the ERP system and process. In addition, you will partner with our leadership team and foster a corporate culture that prioritizes exceptional customer service both internally and externally.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
1. Handle full-cycle accounting and reporting on a daily, monthly and annual basis.
2. Oversee personnel handling accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) processes, including collections.
3. Conduct regular bank reconciliations and cash flow statements to maintain financial accuracy.
4. Assist with SAP inquiries, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and corrections.
5. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of GL account reconciliations.
6. Provide ad-hoc accounting and operational analysis upon request.
7. Facilitate inventory counts and related activities.
8. Prepare year-end audit workpapers and collaborate closely with independent auditors.
9. Perform analytics to evaluate month-end results.
10. Complete other accounting and administrative duties as required.
11. You should be adept at handling multiple tasks and responsibilities while consistently meeting daily deadlines.

Your Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
Minimum of 3+ years of progressive experience in an accounting/finance.
A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (beneficial).
A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or CPA program in process is required.
Demonstrated knowledge of financial, IT, and payroll systems, processes, and activities.
Previous experience with SAP B1 is considered an asset but previous experience with a complex ERP system is essential.
Prior experience with job costing, production jobs, and inventory management, preferably within a manufacturing and service organization.
