Reporting to Accounts Receivable Manager, the Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist is responsible for collecting payments on overdue accounts and contacting debtors to make payment arrangements. With a goal to minimize the ongoing debt, preparing monthly reporting and working with the collections module in PointClickCare.
This position will be located at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario and will have flexibility for both remote and in-office work based on our hybrid work model.
Accountabilities

Putting in place payment plans with resident accounts that are in arrears.

Report on collection activities on a monthly basis, identifying high risk collections.

Identify potential assets that can be leveraged as part of the collection process from a resident.

Maintain the incoming resident collection accounts that have been submitted as part of the collection process by the facilities.

Contacting residents, responsible parties for overdue payments on accounts, via email or phone. Ongoing follow-up required.

Build a report with facility level management at the Long-Term Care home.

Collaborate with Accounts Receivable management, ensuring timely updates are provided on high-risk collections.

Work with facilities to ensure there is no increase in the debt.

Provide support for all lines, bankruptcies, assets and foreclosures as they pertain to each account.

Ensure adherence to the Corporate Policies & Procedures as they pertain to collections.

Leverage independent knowledge and experience on next steps pertaining to collections.

Maintaining all correspondence via the Collections module in PointClickCare

Preparation of monthly reports for Finance & Operational leads.

Quarterly Training as Required
Qualifications and Experience

Minimum 3-5 5 years of experience in a high-volume accounts receivable or collections environment required.

A Business Administration degree or diploma would be an asset.

Experience with provincial legislation and collections process required.

Proficiency in MS Office products with advanced working knowledge of Excel.

Experience using PointClickCare an asset;
-
Experience within a Senior Living environment would be an asset.
