The Role: Senior Bookkeeper (avg 25-30 hours per week) As our Senior Bookkeeper overseeing our online services division, you’ll be responsible for improving upon our existing systems for clients who utilize Square, Stripe, Dubsado, and Jane. You will be asked to provide clear guidance to our clients so that they can limit entry errors and minimize time spent on their files, as well as document our systems so that other bookkeepers can step in and follow our processes with ease.
Your responsibilities will include:
Bookkeeping Brilliance:
- Follow approved systems to accurately enter data, match transactions to the bank feeds, and record sales deposits efficiently.
- Work with software such as Dext and QBO to automate wherever possible.
- Post advanced bookkeeping entries, such as year end adjustments, with finesse.
- Reconcile accounts like a financial detective.
- Follow and maintain organized digital storage systems.
- Create and run custom reports through Quickbooks Online.
Process Improvement Guru:
- Identify opportunities to enhance internal processes to maximize efficiencies and add value to our clients.
- Implement improvements to streamline our client workflows.
Tech Troubleshooter:
- Tackle software challenges head-on.
- Troubleshoot and resolve financial software mysteries.
CRM Connoisseur:
- Navigate CRM systems, such as Dubsado and JaneHR, with ease.
- Reconcile payment processors such as Stripe, Square, Plooto and PayPal.
Team Player Extraordinaire:
- Collaborate effectively with team members.
- Share your knowledge and contribute to a positive work environment.
Non-Negotiables:
- Software Proficiency: Must have a knack for navigating the technological landscape. You are adept in Dext, QuickBooks Online, Excel, Square, Stripe, Jane, and Dubsado.
- Expert Time Management Skills: Juggling tasks with precision, you can masterfully navigate the intricacies of time management, ensuring deadlines are met with efficiency and excellence.
- Attention to Detail: Your eagle eye for detail ensures that no financial stone is left unturned. You take pride in producing accurate and flawless work.
- Ability to Prioritize: In the midst of financial complexity, you can discern what's urgent and important, ensuring that priorities are met with strategic precision. You take complex problems and find simple solutions and you ask for help when needed, recognizing that two heads are often better than one.
- Quick Learning and Adaptability: Like a financial chameleon, you can swiftly learn and adapt to new technologies and industry changes, ensuring you stay ahead of the curve. You regularly review changes to software and don’t reinvent the wheel when a good system already exists.
Other Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Priority will go to candidates who have demonstrable experience working as a bookkeeper for clients utilizing Dubsado, JaneHR, Stripe and Square.
