Students looking for an opportunity to put into practice learned theory of office & admin supports / accounting fundamentals, will have an opportunity to support a small non-profit community based organization who's mission is to provide interventions and programming aimed at working with perpetrators and supporting the safety of victims of gender-based violence in intimate relationships.
Anticipated work week/schedule: Tue to Sat (possibly some Mon's when FT Admin Assistant is on vacation)

- Wed: 10-8 pm
- Thu: 9 am - 4 pm
- Fri: 9 am - 3 pm
- Sat: 9 am -1 pm

As a team member of Changing Ways, the Administrative & Finance Assistant student intern will have an opportunity to support the operations of a community-based human services organization that specializes in programming for men who have caused harm/abuse to women and children. Changing Ways offers a variety of programs and services for men, fathers, women, and victims designed to disrupt violence and abuse, thereby contributing to the safety of women, children, and men.
As an ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT student intern at Changing Ways you will perform a wide range of administrative and operational support functions (Reception, Program Admin, Finance, and Executive Support) that contribute to the quality and efficiency of our client programming and general operations.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
RECEPTION:
- answer, screen and transfer inbound phone calls
- receive and direct visitors and clients
- processing of client fee payments via a POS terminal (debit/credit card, e-transfers)
- general clerical duties including photocopying, faxing and mailing
- open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence
PROGRAM ADMIN SUPPORT:
- create new and update existing client files via an electronic database system
- schedule and coordinate client intake appointments for group facilitators
- resolve administrative problems and inquiries
- prepare written responses to routine inquiries
- prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, forms, drafts, memos and emails
- handle requests for information and statistical data related to programming outcomes
FINANCE / SYSTEMS SUPPORT:
- general bookkeeping duties: recording customer and vendor payments, invoice preparation and delivery
- monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- data entry for monthly claim reports
- general filing in an electronic records system
- systems support (website updates, social media, social enterprise)
EXECUTIVE SUPPORT:
- assist with scheduling of meetings, preparation of agendas
- record, compile, transcribe and distribute minutes of meetings

Pay: $17.50 per hour
