Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Analyst will deliver exceptional customer service to business groups and process biweekly/monthly payroll for salary and hourly employees and contribute to the yearend cycle and internal reporting requirements.
Accountabilities:
Support the payroll team by managing and supporting the day-to-day payroll processes through the manipulation and validation of incoming data, organization and submission of payroll entries to ensure error-free payroll processing aligned to statutory compliance and internal policies through data entry, mass uploads, time system inquiries, payroll processing jobs and maintaining required authorizations and documents
Review, analyze, and reconcile payroll and other payroll related data according to established timelines, standards, and procedures and calculate retroactive data as required and identify any payment or data errors
Ensure employees are receiving their payments on schedule by working to the tight deadlines and effectively managing your time to meet our SLA’s
Handle complex and/or sensitive payroll requests and issues by providing exceptional customer service to both the customer and its employees using Workday case management
Monitor and maintain accuracy of employee deductions, garnishments, and benefit enrollments.
Assist the broader payroll team, as needed, on special projects or payroll processing for vacation coverage
Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of payroll experience, including in-depth knowledge of Dayforce Payroll module
Working knowledge of Workday
Bachelor’s degree, with PCP Certification preferred
Sound knowledge of Canadian payroll taxes and calculations for the various tax implications
Exposure to global payroll processing
Trained eye for detail and accuracy to consistently deliver error-free work
Exceptional time management skills as proper prioritization, communication and multi-tasking various projects under pressure will drive the Analyst’s success in their role due to tight deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be self-starter, well organized, seek development opportunities and able to work independently
A sense of urgency in solving customer requests to ensure timely resolution and an ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines is required
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, etc.)
Experience with EDI file feeds for payroll/benefits
