Job Description:
We are looking for a highly collaborative, results-orientated Accounting professional that ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. This Individual Must be Hands On for the full Accounting cycle. With the ability to Analyzes and reconciles complex general ledger accounts (such as lease accounting and intercompany). Reviews account reconciliations prepared by the team. Understands the processes and ensures the compliance of key controls. This position will lead and contribute to moderately complex projects. Requires a bachelor's degree.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Contribute to business results by working cross-functionally with teams, especially Region Finance personnel
Create and streamline accounting processes and procedures while driving continuous improvement and standardization
Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and reporting packages
Prepare month end entries
Send out daily and weekly reporting; sales reports, collections, and weekly cash flow forecast
Treasury management
Administer the company’s leases in Visual Lease (software)
Collaborate with US team to ensure intercompany consolidates properly
Leads in Canada’s preparation for annual audits and tax returns
Manages 2 people on the team
Desired Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Active CPA a requirement
Understanding of GAAP application
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in public accounting
4+ years of overall general accounting experience
2+ years of managing a team
Bilingual with French is a huge asset
Comprehensive understanding and direct experience with monthly close processes
Strong quantitative analytical skills
Strong personal computer skills, including advanced proficiency with MS office software, particularly Excel (vlookups, sum-ifs, pivot tables, text-to-columns, etc.)
Master’s degree a plus
Experience working with PE companies a plus
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX a plus (similar ERP to Oracle)
Experience with ASC 842 a plus
Experience with SQL a plus
