Norwood Sawmills is a worldwide leader in portable sawmills and is looking for a motivated strategic professional to join our finance team as a Junior Accountant focusing on the Accounts Receivables function. Reporting to the Financial Controller you will encompass Norwood’s daily financial tasks to ensure optimal compliance in payment processing, management of invoices and customer payments, while maintaining accurate records from our customers and vendors.
What you bring to the team:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.

Preferred: holds a CPA/CMA designation or is working towards an accounting designation.

2+ years of experience in an accounting function including accounts receivable, payment processing, invoice management, and analyzing financial data.

Solid background and understanding of accounting practices and principles.

Financial reporting and analysis skills with a mastery in excel (knowledge of NetSuite considered an asset).

Understanding of e-commerce applications such as Shopify.

A typical day for the Junior Accountant – Accounts Receivable at Norwood Sawmills:

Process customer credit card payments within Salesforce.
-
Monitor customer accounts for non-payments and/or delayed payments.
-
Prepare invoices for dealers and distributors.
-
Ownership of the AR Aging Report — addressing overdue balances, anomalies, collecting past due payments, correcting accounts as necessary, reconciliation with general ledger.

Coordinate payments from the dealer network per agreements, credit limits and terms.

Review, reconcile and update of payments from undeposited funds and customer deposits to AR.

Own and review NetSuite banking activity, payment applications.

Update dealer invoice reporting (weekly or as needed).

Maintain dealer payments, schedules and credit terms.

Provide recommendations to improve efficiencies with accounts receivable processes.
