Fort Garry Industries has an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Administrator to join our team at our corporate head office in Winnipeg. Please submit a cover letter with your resume outlining your experience with Payworks payroll system and your salary expectations
This is a term to permanent position
What You Will Do:

Prepare and distribute biweekly payroll for all employees
-
Maintain and update employee information, such as employee files, records of employee attendance, leave and overtime to calculate pay and benefit entitlements in Canadian currency

Prepare and update various payroll-related spreadsheets (tracking education assistance programs, boot allowances, vacation time, etc.).

Prepare monthly spreadsheets for the accounting department (accrual journals)
-
Respond to employee and branch inquiries as required
-
Assist with group insurance benefits and reconcile monthly billing
-
Assist with the administration of FGI’s short-term disability program
-
Calculation of car taxable benefits
-
Distribute T4’s
-
Other duties as assigned
What We Require:
-
Experience with Payworks payroll program required, with experience in the Time Management module preferred.

5+ years experience with payroll on a computerized system preferred
-
PCP Candidate preferred.

Excellent customer service skills – dedicated to exceeding the expectations of internal and external customers.

Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to write and speak succinctly with customers and colleagues.

Basic to proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (email, word, excel) and ability to learn in-house systems.

Post secondary education in payroll or accounting an asset
-
Knowledge of general accounting principles, payroll procedures and employments standards are assets.

Heavy duty parts knowledge or background an asset
